| Summary, etc. | This Manual on Development of Competency-Based Curriculum for Area-based<br/>Demand Driven Approach is prepared by the Curriculum and Training Aids<br/>Development Division (CTADD) of the National Institute for Technical Education and<br/>Skills Development (NITESD) to provide complete guidance in the development of a<br/>Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) for area-based demand driven TVET<br/>programs. The CBC is among the vital documents to support the Competency-Based Training (CBT) approach and focuses on the knowledge, skills and attitude that a learner can demonstrate – in a practical way – for a given qualification. This CBT approach is<br/>being promoted by TESDA to address the gap between training and employment.<br/>It is crucially important that the competencies resulting from area-based demand<br/>driven TVET training programs are signaled by the industry, acknowledged and<br/>matched with the specific responsibilities through skills development, and an adequate<br/>strategy to undertake school to work transition. |
