By: Contributor(s): Material type: TextTextPublication details: Taguig City Technical Education and Skills Development Authority c2023Description: 125 p. : col. illSubject(s): Online resources: Summary: The Community-Based Training (CBT) became a real struggle when the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), which was considered a global problem hit the Philippines, specifically on the first quarter of 2020. At the height of the pandemic, different institutions shifted to online modality while others opted to implement modular approach in the pursuit of providing quality education despite of the underlying circumstances. The limited tools and equipment also imposed a challenge while access to training venues became difficult because of the restrictions set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), Local Government Units (LGUs) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Moreover, the said tools and equipment as well as assembled parts were not that user-friendly and convenient to transport from various training locations, hence, the researcher came up with the development of a Portable Power Supply Trainer to facilitate the teaching and learning process and make it more accessible. The Descriptive-developmental approach research method was used in this study. Further, a survey questionnaire was distributed to respondents to determine the level of acceptability of the fabricated portable power supply trainer as to its usability, ease of use, satisfaction, and learning. Based on the findings, the usefulness, ease of repair and availability of parts were rated highly acceptable. Moreover, respondents were very much satisfied with its convenience to use and regarded it very useful in teaching electronics as obviously manifested in the over-all rating on its acceptability. Indeed, the fabricated portable power supply trainer is a breakthrough in enhancing the training delivery in the critical areas of electronics which include the power supply source management, as well as in the thorough understanding of its component parts and functions, operation of every stage and voltage and waveform analysis that are essential for the students to learn.
